Bensoul writes the kind of song you only understand properly the third time you hear it, usually at 2am. He came up through Nairobi’s songwriting rooms, where the craft mattered more than the count, and he has never really left that habit behind.
On a Kodong Klan bill he is the reset, the moment the room stops jumping and starts listening. Then he hands it back louder than he found it.
